Norway has taken an important step against Israeli atrocities on Palestinians by withdrawing its investment in 16 Israeli companies.
According to Al Arabiya, Norway's largest pension fund, KLP, withdrew from investing in 16 Israeli-established ghetto-based companies in West Jordan, including Alstom and Motorola.
In a statement, KLP said the companies were operating in West Jordan in areas ranging from telecom, banking, and energy to construction, and were helping to maintain Israel's presence in the region. They are violating international law, their business in the Palestinian Territories is against the ethical values and guidelines of the pension fund leader, so they are withdrawing from investing in them.
"It is unacceptable to us that these companies are also complicit in human rights violations in war and conflict situations due to their affiliation with Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank," the statement said.
